The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery welcomed more than 750 stars and luminaries from across the country for the Portrait of a Nation Gala. At the red-carpet event, the seven honorees received the museum’s Portrait of a Nation Award for their exemplary contributions to the United States and its people.

It was important to extend environmental details of the museum itself, installing additional trees, backdrops that felt natural and native to the space - a celebration of the gallery and the institution’s mission.
